On CSI And Amber Alerts
Thursday, March 10, 2011
Hello Dahlings!!!!
I'm a big fan of CSI. I enjoy watching that show because you get to learn a lot of things. And although some may have been tweaked for the purposes of entertainment, some things they have on the show are factual.

Lets take for example the term "Amber Alert". As some of you may know, to announce an Amber Alert means the a child abduction has occured.
So why the term Amber Alert?
In 1996, 9-year-old Amber Hagerman was abducted and murdered in Arlington Texas. She was playing in the parking lot of an abandoned grocery store when a man sprinted to her and dragged her into his truck. Four days after she was abducted, Amber's corpse was found in a creek bed by a man who was walking his dog. Her killer was never found.

After this unfortunate event, sprung the launch of Amber Alert. Although this was derived from Hagerman's name, officially it has become a backronym for "America's Missing: Broadcasting Emergency Response"
Are you a CSI fan too? Let me know, foxes!
Smoldering you with hugs and kisses,
